Several photos of some of my collage pieces

Broccoli

Broccoli

Not much more to say, but the beadwork on this one was fun. Have to remember to vacuum up the rest of the teensy beads that are scattered around Prune Ridge...

BrownCow

BrownCow

I seem to have a large collection of photos of cow noses from my Heifer Ranch adventure last spring. I found myself going back to them over and over, thinking about collaging them. This is the first finished result.

Carrots

Carrots

This one tested me a bit, but it was fun! Quite a challenge to figure out how to make the frilly-looking carrot tops - with glue and fibers, without ending up stuck to the piece myself!

Crack In Everything

Crack In Everything

Some text from Leonard Cohen that speaks to me. 07/2006

Erin's Wedding Invite

Erin's Wedding Invite

My friend Erin's wedding invitation - 07/2006

Four Veggies

Four Veggies

Four individual pieces, to be donated at the Saline Picture Frame Company for their annual Circle of Art benefit for Food Gatherers!

Garlic Bulb

Garlic Bulb

I might be most fond of this one (of the four veggies)!

Joy in the Garden

Joy in the Garden

Newest addition to the collection - this one is for Food Gatherers' annual silent auction fund raiser as part of the "Grillin" event in June. A little different work for me - almost entirely paper, only one small set of stones. (Most of my work is much more mixed media) Finished on Memorial Day '07!

Know Who You Are

Know Who You Are

This is a new piece just finished on 4/29/07. It is a smaller piece than my usual (only 9"x9"), and a donation for the Food Gatherers "Circle of Art" fund raising arts auction.

Masterworks Chorale 06-07 Season

Masterworks Chorale 06-07 Season

This is a new piece using the images from our Masterworks Chorale 2006-2007 season brochure. 10/2006

Patience

Patience

This is text from a favorite book - "The Book Of Qualities" by J. Ruth Gendler. (Sorry for the glare, but not a bad pic!) 04/2006

Personalities

Personalities

This one was a gift for John about 2 years ago, based on something he said shortly after we met. You know, those moments early in the relationship of finding out exactly who you both are? Beautiful man! Approx. 11/2004

Purple Asparagus

Purple Asparagus

And purple asparagus - also a real naturally-occurring variety of asparagus. Created for the 2010 Circle of Art auction to benefit Food Gatherers.

Purple Carrots

Purple Carrots

Yes, purple carrots! Did you know this is one of the "original" natural colors of carrots? There are still many purple varieties available, but we know orange because they've been bred to be orange for the most part. Created for the 2010 Circle of Art auction to benefit Food Gatherers.

Red Pepper

Red Pepper

The one that started the collection. It started as, and I still say it is, a Red Pepper - but it's possible to interpret as an Apple.

SnackingCow

SnackingCow

This piebald cow was a favorite of mine when I visited the Heifer Ranch. She was very amenable to posing for photos - especially when snacks of the grass she couldn't reach on our side of the fence were placed on the fencepost for her to sample.

TenderLand

TenderLand

This is the one that started the collage odyssey for me - I made it in a workshop a few years ago. Text based on The Tender Land by Aaron Copland - an opera I had the privilege to perform in during college. Not sure of the date on this, but approx. 07/2002

Ute Prayer

Ute Prayer

"Earth teach me regeneration as the seed which rises in the spring." (A bit of a glare and an angle on this one - forgot to photograph before the glass!) Approx. 05/2006
